About Keisha Bussey

I would like donors to know that I am a passionate dance educator dedicated to inspiring creativity, confidence, and lifelong learning in every student. As the Dance Educator at Carter Academy Magnet School, I strive to create an inclusive environment where all students have the opportunity to discover their talents and express themselves through the arts. In addition to teaching, I serve as the Team Lead for the Performing Arts Department, collaborating with colleagues to provide meaningful artistic experiences for our students. I am also the ATPE Campus President, where I advocate for educators and support a positive school community. Beyond the classroom, I am the author of the KDB Chance to Dance children's book series, created to encourage young readers to believe in themselves, embrace diversity, and pursue their dreams through dance. Donor support helps provide students with the resources, experiences, and opportunities they might not otherwise have. Every contribution directly impacts our young dancers by helping them develop discipline, teamwork, confidence, and a love for the performing arts that extends far beyond the classroom.

How I Will Use Donations

The donations will be used to provide high-quality dance equipment, instructional materials, and classroom resources that enhance student learning and creativity. These supplies will help create a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where students can develop their dance technique, build confidence, and express themselves through movement. The donated resources will support hands-on learning experiences, improve daily instruction, and ensure that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed, regardless of their background. By investing in our dance program, donors are helping students strengthen their artistic skills, teamwork, discipline, and self-esteem while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.
